Tea with the Watsons by maryfgr23 Tea with the Watsons by maryfgr23
Yea...Joan doesn't frequent the internet as much as she should. And maybe for the better.
I do not necessarily share in the opinions of my characters. I just prefer to focus on the dynamic between Joan and her Sherlock outside the romantic, but I'm not mocking or discouraging those who do.
Otherwise all my ships are unsinkable. (mwahaha!)
I may have gone overboard with the rendering on this one but dammit I just love tea sets and tea rooms!

I get this. I kind of both ship them and don't ship them. If that make sense. I enjoy exploring all aspects and potentials of their relationship basically.

you're a very good boyfriend, John. and sherlock Holmes is a very lucky man.
Loveless-Yokai Featured By Owner Feb 4, 2014
That was the coolest most cruel line ever.
Then theres: "I'm not gay!"
"Yes you are"
"I don't shave just for sherlock Holmes"
fantasyfanrocks1 Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2014  Student Traditional Artist
Hahaha, yes, that one was hilarious!

It's funny 'cause John goes through the same thing. You're preaching to the choir Joan! At least you don't have constantly have to try and convince others that you're not gay. Other Watsons didn't have these problems, no one mistook Holmes and Watson for being a couple, everyone just saw them as dear friends.

Actually, I know some people, including a few literary scholars who think they are gay, but just hide it and don't express it due to the era and leave only hints and it translates to every interpenetration of Homes.
The only exception is Sherlock Homes movies for they kind of show more brotherhood and John really loving his wife. Though even did I heard a writer admit he though their could be something if it was another era. So take how you will.

Actually, it pretty obvious in the original stories that Watson is completely in love with Mary. It's especially obvious in the story when he originally meets her; he's completely smitten with her and she's all he can think about. He's even afraid of asking her to marry him because he doesn't want her to think he's only after her money. It's just so cute and sweet and I wish there was more of their relationship. Now, I think it's possible that Holmes may have secretly been in love with Watson (personally, I think he's asexual but it's possible he's homoromantic/biromantic asexual) but Watson was obviously in love with Mary so he knew that he would never feel for him the same way he did. In short, I don't see why people think Watson is gay but I kind of understand why people might think Holmes is gay or at least homoromantic/biromantic.

To be honest, I wasn't crazy about Mary's character in the movies I just don't think they did very good job with her character or her in Watson's relationship (in fact, one of the best things about Mary is that she didn't get the way of Holmes and Watson's relationship and realized how important they are to each other, letting them spend as much time together as they'd like but I felt she did the opposite in the movies.) I much prefer Mary's character in BBC Sherlock; not only is she a complex character with a dark past and flaws but she really understands how important Sherlock and John are to each other and loves Sherlock (it's also quite obvious that Sherlock loves Mary too and this could be the first time there could be a threesome hinted at.)
Think again, Joan. Think again.

Bahaha! This is great. Poor John. I never ship anything outside of cannon, and it kind of creeps me out that so many people make up, erm, so much about characters that are great left alone. My thoughts, anyway. Loving your gallery. :)
